I recent (Sunday) bought a new Lexus IS350C. The funny thing is that the amount of gadgetry requires me to write a review (that will be later its large). As I was showing off the car to my old boss we talked about cars.
I joked that it would be great if car companies would give me an SDK to write applications for my car. As the saying goes "beware what you ask for you might just get it". At CES Ford announced its next version of Sync which would include music streaming via Pandora and Stitcher. In addition, there would be Tweeter. Alan Mulally also hinted that a SDK and application store might be coming.
Details are vague but it looks like the Sync will use your Bluetooth phone as a gateway to the Internet. The Sync system then would run programs based on Microsofts Robotics and could access services in the cloud.
Very cool.
