Last week I saw Embarcadero announcing a new version of Delphi. It also included the ability to write iOS and Mac Apps. Being a big believer in cross platform development I had to try it out.
Most people have heard of Windows Home Server. This new OS is made specifically to be a server for the home, home office or small business. I have not had anytime to do anything with this new technology. Santa decided our home needed one though and yesterday a new HP EX475 MediaSmart Home Server showed up at the door.
I have moved recently and the new master bedroom got an A/V make over. I wanted a HD Plasma TV with at least 720p with HD content. After getting everything setup I ran into a slight problem. The sleigh bed foot board blocked line of slight to the components and with interference from the Plasma our Harmony 659 was giving both my wife and I fits. While I love the Harmony Remotes it was clearly time to retire the Harmony 659.
This weekend I had time to sit down and really look at Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2. This entry will cover how to build a Compact Framework 3.5 application using VS2008. At the same time it will give a brief tour of VS2008.
Last year I bought a Vizio 42" Plasma and hooked up Comcast HD DVR. I have since become a video snub and tend to watch only HD channels. When I moved back to Houston last month I again ordered Comcast. However, the amount of content is a lot less. So I decided to buy a Toshiba A2 HD DVD Player.
Last night I decided to see an episode of Eureka I had missed. The Sci-Fi channel has been advertising that I could watch the episode on their website.
In the last two years I have had DSL and Cable modems. I always wondered why anyone would want cable as their service for Internet. Now I know why the average user will probably choose cable over DSL. And why cable companies make more money on self service provisioning.
While I was on vacation I had the pleasure to test a Pharos 600. This is a GSM GPS phone from Pharos. The phone is your standard Windows Mobile 5 with MSFP Pocket Phone and includes a GPS with mapping software.
Recently I have been reading general business books. I wanted to see if business project management differed from project management books for computer projects.
