One of the things I have been working on this week is getting ready for MEDC 2007. I have a couple of presentations including
- deep dives into SQL Server Compact Edition (SSCE) performance
- how to create better integrated applications using the shell or totally bypass it and create your own kiosk or shell facade.
- Instructor led lab on deploying line of business (LOB) applications for mobile workers using SMS
In addition I have been working on building a rack of servers for a booth.
The booth is called Enterprise Mobility in Action and will serves as a public representation of a stress lab that carried out Merge Replication performance and scalability testing between SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition with the Mobile Line of Business Accelerator database.
You know the old adage “Seeing is believing” and at MEDC 2007, you will see a scalable 4-Tier Merge/Replication architecture. A rack of servers will mimic the activities of the stress lab in front of you. A bunch of servers in the rack will act as clients and utilize a custom automated test harness to place a load equivalent to hundreds of replicating subscribers on the server. You will be able to view server statistics like CPU, network, and memory utilization and view client statistics like sync times and database changes per sync.
In addition, several of the Mobile SST and MEDC will be on hand to talk about what is going on and have deep technical discussions. It should be very cool. If you are at MEDC 2007 stop by.
In addition, this year should have a lot more content for IT Pros along with content for application developers. You can register at http://www.medc2007.com.
I hope to see you there.
