In the last two years I have had DSL and Cable modems. I always wondered why anyone would want cable as their service for Internet. Now I know why the average user will probably choose cable over DSL. And why cable companies make more money on self service provisioning.

Microsoft has release Home Server to manufacturing. Home Server is a new product that allows for ease of use home server. The product allows system builders to create an appliance for storing home users data like photos, videos, music, and documents on a network. It also can automatically backup those important documents.

VS2008

Work is progressing rapidly on VS2008. A second beta should be out this summer according to InfoWeek. The target release date is still by end of the year.

While I was on vacation I had the pleasure to test a Pharos 600. This is a GSM GPS phone from Pharos. The phone is your standard Windows Mobile 5 with MSFP Pocket Phone and includes a GPS with mapping software.

Ruby.Net

The QUT Ruby.Net implementation is moving to a full open source model. This is an implementation of Ruby using the .Net CLR and Visual Studio.
